blues, stitched across
rust-red valleys
streak the earth,
contain the spring,
will the rain
to be patient.

they carve my eyes
with the melancholy
of a young girl’s heart,
its approaching
tempest.


Anu-MahadevAnu Mahadev is a recent graduate of the MFA program of Drew University in Madison, NJ. She is a left-brained analytical engineer turned right-brained creative poet! Other words to describe her are dreamer, choir singer, social bee, book/music addict and lifelong learner/traveler. Currently she is pursuing French and the guitar. She writes mostly about love, loss and the ties that bind us.
